I bought a new edelbrock 600 for my truck. The truck is a auto and I need the linkage to hook up the kickdown rod. I had ordered the rod extension #8011 but it looks like it does work. Do I need the throttle lever adapter and if so how do you connect the crap.
I too just recently got a Edelbrock 600 carb for my 79 302.
I have picked up kit part #1483 (Ford throttle adapter) but it looks like you will also need part #1490 (Ford throttle cable plate kit) so that the kickdown rod will hook up.
This is out of the '03 Edelbrock catalog - I only have gotten the one bracket so far & am not %100 positive that its all thats needed for the install.
we just finished installing a new carb and manifold both edelbrock performer series on my 83' F250, 351W, C6, and the kickdown linkage isn't working properly, do I need to find a different kick down rod? or is there an adjustment I've missed?
You must bend the rod a little here and there to get it to clear everything. There is and adjustment screw that makes the lever engage sooner on the linkage adapter.

thanks, clearance wasn't the issue... we went through the procedures in the manual, but it seems like the stock lever isn't getting the proper travel to engage... we were thinking about swapping it out with the linkage from a 460/ C6 setup, thinking it might have better travel...
i bought the small block rod extension and the throttle adapter plate. The rod extension is 2.5 inches long and is attached to the kickdown rod and then hook it up to the throttle plate which you buy seperate. I used both pieces and it works with my c6 just fine.
