Hey, not new to the ford world, but new here. I've been lurking around the forums here trying to absorb all of this great info and experience. I'm not very experienced with wrenching, most I've done is help the old (not so old) man repair and maintain the truck. He did all the major stuff to it before I could walk. Enough about me, here's the truck.
Old Blue
351m de smogged
4brl edelbrock carb.
msd ignition
4 spd auto (will update name gotta go check, forgot)
no p/s
no power brakes ( drums all around)
+ some gauges and new solenoid
and a brand new battery, old man said I didn't start it enough (2 times a week) and that's why the battery was dead. turns out it was a 10+ year old battery.
I don't have the time to drive it much, school.

What is the small indicator on bottom right of dash, and advice on rust like how long until its really bad, its in a garage not heated.
I heard you guys have some ford code talkers. can someone make sense of it?.
Thanks, Gjuetar

Did someone eliminate the vacuum advance can? I see the hole for it but not the can.
Also, are you sure you have an M block? The engine looks suspiciously like a Cleveland.
Check the top corner(s) of the heads....do you have a number or a letter...or nothing? I can't see in the pictures.
Also check the date code....it's behind the starter, but visible.
Nice truck and thanks for the pics! Just something to think about, you may want to think about a larger air filter (local auto parts store) and a fan shroud. LMC truck had a repop fiberglass mock-up that didn't fit so well, but used it for a while any and ended up getting a marginal condition but original one from a junk yard that has been great ever since.

51 = Denver CO Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
0308 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
While the truck was ordered from Denver, this doesn't mean that the dealer was located in Denver. Could have been located in any town/city in CO or possibly WY or?
The only way to find out where the dealer was located, is to get a Marti Report.
