fan motor

i have a 82 f100 , my fan motor for my heater crapped out on me, every time i put the lever on it smells like its on fire..how much do they run and how hard are they to put in? i checked the archives and couldnt find anything

fan motor

Wicked easy to install, and only around $25. They usually come without the actual fan itself, but that is easy to change too. I would take a shop vac, and after removing the motor, try to remove as much debris as possible from the housing. A piece of leaf or something could get caught against the motor resistor grid, and cause a real fire.
