My 06 F350 is having an issue where the horn starts honking for no reason. I initially thought it was an alarm issue but the lights don’t flash when it happens, and using the alarm remote doesn’t stop it. Nor does starting the truck. This happens randomly when the truck is parked, has never happened when driving. I was thinking horn relay but not sure why it would do it when the vehicle is parked. Then I thought door switches saying the door is open, but if that was the case the remote would stop it. Any ideas? Also anyone know which one is the horn relay?
I ended up having to replace the horn circuit board to fix that issue with mine same year truck remove 2 screws holding the air bag and it will be under the airbag itself it's a white circuit board type thing with plugs in the end of in
Same thing for me.
Here is the silly thing in my case full leather and controls in the wheel
Ford wants almost the same price as a new wheel for the switch. But
the switch tends to be backordered big time, So B&R Auto Wrecking
got me a new wheel with the air bag for $50.
One way to test for sure is to disconnect the horn switch and see
if it goes off or not.
Here are some photos of the switch and the torx bit you need.
Hope this helps. that switch just slips in if you can find a good one on a bad air bag.
