So , there is many haters of the ecoboost on the raptor and the fact that it doesnt tow much. I agree with both camps. Judging by the amount of modded SDs i see everywhere i figure there is a huge market ford is missing out on. What would you want to see on one?
My list ...
decent increase on susp travel say in the 8-10" range
17 " wheels and tire combo same as raptor
raptor seats
floor shifter
fender flares or widened fenders
Carli disagrees. Noone said that it has to be a tiny 2000# Toyota, rear engine, IFS desert racer. Or a giant short course truck.
Whoever makes these is on the right track. But those front fenders need to cover the tires better.
Yeah it would sell. Everytime Ford adds an insane upscale model, all the momo's just HAVE to HAVE it. Got to keep up with the Jones's and America is in a self identity crisis, so.......

So you are just after the raptor look?? There is nothing about that front suspension that says soft landing.
fenders can not be wider!! The truck would be past max DOT width

that’s the megaraptor and they are selling like crazy , they are another example of ford missing out on sales. They also make a superaptor , same truck just with a more sane 40” tire.

If the shocks are tuned right it can land like butter, but you're putting a lot of stress on the knuckles. That's why most (yes most) whoop eaters are IFS. KOH has competitions where a lot of the ultra 4 racers are SFA because it's a mix of high speed and desert racing.
Then again you are talking about a 3-4k # vehicle vs a 7-8k lb super duty.
Most people that buy that truck up there ^^^ will never do anything with it other than drive to the mall.
The 150-based Raptor is a pretty special vehicle, and I think a "Super Duty" version would kind of ruin it. A Raptor is lighter than a SD, has a much more specialized 4x4 system than an SD, and needs the type of suspension that would ruin a Super Duty.
I'm in the unique position to have both. The Raptor is actually a fairly good tow vehicle as long as you don't need to tow much more than 8k. I've pulled 11,500 with mine using a W/D hitch. Surprisingly stable, and I had no issues with braking. Despite 450HP and 510lb-ft of turbocharged power on tap, the engine did feel stressed with this load...there was always a bit of vibration under heavy power, and towing this load up a long hill would always result in the Raptor's twin electric fans cranking up to max RPM and the grille shutters opening. The suspension sags a lot, even with the W/D hitch tweaked up. Sure, you could add stiffer springs or air bags, but then you'd be wrecking the Raptor's awesome ride quality and soft feel.
I will vouch for the awesome looks, and the fact that the seats are much more comfortable than the SD seat. It is also a very quick truck, very fun to drive. Here's mine:
$5-10k suspension selling on back order I think ford is missing out on a factory equipped all purpose sd raptor I'd check that box on my order guide won't think twice
I was looking at buying a Power Wagon before I decided on the F250 Super Duty. The Raptor and Power Wagon both can't carry enough payload and don't have the towing capacity. You can either have soft high speed off road suspension, or stiffer more stable work related suspension. I use a Chenowth DR2 for the off road high speed fun.

Nice truck. We have installed air bags on 2 Raptors. Does nothing to the ride. And they are dedicated to the Raptor. They work really well.
I'm assuming you did this on Gen-1 Raptors? For some reason airbags are not offered by the usual suspects for the Gen-2. Only one I could find was by Timbren. My experience with air bags is they need a minimum inflation even when not loaded which that alone will limit the plushness of the suspension to a degree.
But in any case, I decided to not use the Raptor as a Super Duty. It became a toy and I bought another 2017 F-250 diesel.
Landing? You're joking right? Wrong machine. Wrong job. Fast cars and trucks don't have license plates and tow hitches. Make a prerunner or a buggy for that stuff.
