Alt Regulator pigtail?

Hi all,

I've been working on getting my 83 F100 300 i6 running and it seems I have to rebuild, at least partially, the alternator wiring harness. I went through the entire index of the motorcraft pigtail catalog and all of the pigtails that were labelled for alternator or anything of remote relevance to that system look nothing like what I have. Would anyone know what pigtail in the catalog works for that or another source for such a pigtail?

There are no identifying numbers on the pigtail. This is the plug into the regulator and is the one I need.

Try these guys:

Automotive Electrical Connector Pigtails, Terminals, Tools and More

If no joy, what's wrong with the old one? Is the plastic shell okay?

With most connectors, you can release the individual contacts. Look for a small locking tab, and use a small screwdriver, an Allen wrench, or even a stiff piece of wire to release it. Once you get the contact out, you will find they are usually a standard piece used in many types of connectors. The only difference is the configuration of the shell. With a little trial and error, you can often rob the contacts from a similar connector and put them in your existing plastic shell.

The outside of the connector is fine, all contacts are corroded severely and one of the locking tabs on the inside is broken off. I looked at just changing the contacts out but I don't think its possible in this application.

When I pulled the harness from the truck, the two yellow wires for towing and electric fuel pump (both of which I don't need luckily) were so corroded, I had green powder coming out like a pixie stick.

Either way, less than 5 seconds on that site and I found this on the front page:
Ford Voltage Regulator Repair Connector 75 to 89 - The Repair Connector Store

Looks just like it but has an extra contact. $8.99 is worth it if I don't have to mess around with fixing a connector.

Thank you KR.
