Is there an "upgrade" from the regular 2-speed wiper switch that I currently have that would give me intermittent wipers? Hard to get used to the constant wipers being on.
I just bought the upgrade from a fellow on eBay for my 79 f150. I remember one fellow saying that the 78-79 intermittent switch can easily be adapted to the earlier models. I can't remember exactly what he said needed to be done but I think it had to do with shortening the switches rod so it didn't stick out from the dash. I'll see if I can find his auction.
You can find them on ebay quite often, or check the local "used parts grounds". I belive any delay setup from a 73-86 will work with no modification. The 87-up need a wire swapped I think....
Go to the upper right hand corner of this page. Click on the Tech Articles button. There is an article there with pictures about installing intermittent switch in a 73 to 79 truck.
If you'll compoare the timer box plug to the dash harness plug, you'll see one wire out of line. This is for the washer function. Match up the wires and it'll work fine. I've found that interval switches from 73-86 will work in all years from 67 up as well.
