Honestly they both need to let everyone in on what their plans are for gas. This is what’s holding me up on ordering.

Obviously the 6.2 is no slouch (especially since any towing I’d do is well under 5,000lbs), but the extra power from the diesel would be nice for what I do have planned (bigger tires and lift). But no matter what I read about reliability of all the new diesels they still scare me since I don’t NEED a diesel. I also don’t need a $10,000+ repair down the road on a primary vehicle. So a new gas V8 with power levels between the 6.2 and 6.7 would be perfect in my opinion.

Yep, 3:04. That's a Coyote 5.0 block.

If they're going to base the 7X on something (they're not), they'd base it on the 6.2L, not the 5.0.

Unless there's more than one 7X coming out??? A small block car version. And a big block truck version.

From what I was told, it would be very hard to tell a 7X block from a 6.2L block. Don't know how true that is.

I am also curious about GM's response to the 7X. Supposedly they have something under development 'under 8L' that they may share with International.

Yeah that does look like a 5.0 block. Not sure why it's sitting there during that basic press release.

I saw that yesterday. Potential power numbers are awesome for the Raptor, if it ends up being true.

The 6.2L block is completely different than the 5.0L, that's part of why I was so certain that the video pic was not a 6.2L based engine.

6.2L:

"In the event you keep in mind a couple of many years ago"??? That didn't come from Ford, it sounds like one of those fake Asian auto news websites.

Don't think the 7.0L is coming before 3rd. quarter 2019, and I have still not seen concrete evidence it will be in any F-150 or Mustang.

Keep in mind that the primary application for the 7X engine is to replace the 6.8L V-10 in commercial trucks like the F-650. I really don't know where all this speculation that it is a DOHC 4 valve high performance engine is coming from, because the only credible information that I have heard about 7X so far says otherwise. In fact, it might not even replace the 6.2L in the F-250 and 350. Time will tell, I don't profess to have any special inside information on what Ford is up to...............

Following. I don't like diesels and am very interested in what they do in the future with the 7.0L in the Super Duty line.
