Those are the only rockers that are specifically designed to be used with stock pushrods, but they are not available all year....if you can get them shipped asap, better do it while you can.
Still need to measure lifter preload with them, despite the intended design.
Thanks, is there any machine work that has to be done with them? I assume you like them since you bought them twice.
What intakes should I be looking for?
I have the Edelbrock Truck Performer 3881 on mine and am very happy with it. Others on this board have converted their stock 5.8 lower intake to match the 5.0 upper with great results. I believe Conanski still has a Typhoon available, too.

I bought a Professional Products Qualifier Efi intake on Black Friday for $330 CDN all in shipped, great deal. It is reported to be a sound, budget friendly piece for these engines and reportedly does well when they are performance modded. Also known as the Typhoon if you care to read a bit about them. Eddy intakes are crazy for us in Canada with the current exchange. Even though I can afford it, I refuse to pay $1000 for a bloody intake manifold.

Do you mean Speedmaster? I've seen someone else say pro products qualifier recently as well but it was confusing as I had literally seen it 2 days prior on jets or summit. Couldn't remember the brand though. I think they're basically the same...
While I have the engine out for the rebuild I want to do the smog delete. Is there anything else I should consider doing in the engine compartment while the engine is out?
So they bolt on to my heads? Cool. Any intake advice? Or header advise? I been looking at pacesetters I guess I'll need some with O² bungs.
Get a set of Hooker longtubes. I put some on my 89 and they fit well, except I had to do a little massaging around the frame on the passenger side, took a small notch out of the frame. You don't need O2 bungs in the headers. Weld some bungs into the pipe under the truck, around the stock location.
I put an Edelbrock EFI Truck intake on mine, very happy with it, and it looks killer. Bolted right up, everything that I needed was included, 0 hassle. If you want to spend a day of your life polishing the rough cast inside the intake, you can probably get it to flow a little more air.
I'm running Scorpion roller rockers in my engine, but the Comp one's are good too, and cheaper in your instance.
Changing your differential gears is going to feel like a bigger power difference than any of this engine work will feel like.
