Hidden USB ports not working

Today I got in the truck and lugged my phone in to charge on the ride home-
I got a call half way home and noticed the truck didn't pick up the call...... Hmmmmm then I noticed the phone wasn't charging either. I tried the lighter adapter and it registered right away- back to the USB and nope-----
I sync'd the phone again but nothing.....

Any thoughts?

I have a really short cable(8") and it won't connect the phone to Android auto through the truck. Another cable that's about twice as long and it connects fine. I suggest trying a different cable.

Check the 20 amp fuses #62, #64, and #66 in the under hood fuse box.

As another poster mentioned, start with the basics first which are the fuses and then to the actual USB hub itself.

I`ve heard of some vehicle owners USB hub just going bad but they`re easily replaced....5-10 minutes tops.

Have the same problem with my 2017 F250 - never tried the port until recently when my wife tried to charge her phone on a trip - no juice. I checked the cable to the phone back home and it was fine so I'll try the suggestions. If I come up with anything else, I'll post.

Try a different cable. Same problem. Used the Samsung cable no problems. Use the other one at home now.

Thanks. Will try several cables tomorrow. Finally have time to try and discover the problem on Friday and use all of the suggestions (starting with the fuse). I used the 110 plug with a a USB adapter/charger for the past day but would certainly rather go direct.

I had the USB hubs not work on my 2019 once. Can’t remember the circumstances around what I did. Normally I turn the truck on and while it’s warming up I connect my phone. Once I got to my destination and turned the vehicle off, I turned it back on and it was working again. Never had a problem since.

Buy a new ( NON el cheapo) usb cord. 9/10 times it's the cord. Cheap ones do not last, super short ones have some issues too.
try this first, it's way cheaper and having a good cord is never a waste on money

Where is the hidden port? Or are you referring to the ones behind the sliding door?

First you’re going to have to purchase a new USB module from a Ford parts department or find one online.

To remove it, you’re going to need a plastic pry or trim removal tool so you won’t scratch anything or you can use a small flat blade screw driver.

Just go on YouTube and type in USB removal in F150.

It’ll show how easy it is to remove and replace and it’ll take less than 10 minutes.

I have a message above the view screen saying there is a bad connection. There is not a cord plugged into the USB port. Don’t u think I would try different cords? Duh!

1st of all you didn't say that in your first posting - 2nd not sure how anyone would know that with out being a wiccan and risk being burned at the stake in Salem - 3rd... no I stopped thinking people would do the most obvious thing years ago... there are many 1/2 empty boxes of crayons

🙄

edit to add... and my reason for the 1/2 empty crayon box.... you are not even the OP in this thread and I can't see ANY post on this about what you are talking about. Are you a spam bot or just being mean today?
