Since this thread has gone cold, and all the 6.2's are working flawlessly throught the winter, I would ask you guys what you think of this new eTorque "mild Hybird" technology that Ram is sending out on the new Gen5 1500.? I'm not sure but the first thing that comes to my mind is who will make the first delete kit for it. I do like the reclining rear crew cab seats in the new Ram though.
The E Torque system is an option on the Hemi and standard on the V6. It's only designed to assist during acceleration when in 4 cylinder mode, but won't maintain power during 8 cylinder operation.
One concern is applying this 130 ft/lbs via the serpentine belt.

I am hearing it is standard on the Hemi and an option on a Tradesman model. It makes more sense to me to have it as a stand alone option across the trims. I haven't given much thought to the power through the serpentine belt, but that is a good point.

Here's a pretty good video of the E Torque system.
Well that Ram rep did say it's an option on the V8 so I think that is a good thing. I'm surprised if all they get is 10% better economy over the last truck. The new truck is already more aerodynamic, lighter and lower to the ground so that has to equate to some mpg gain. I'm not sure I would want to deal with this e-torque system for a small mpg gain.
