I'm just curious, are the interiors and dashboards different between the '51 and '52. I have had a couple of '51 and '52 parts trucks at different times and have never noticed any differences but someone on a different board mentioned that they were different. As you can see from my signature I am more into the '48-50s I don't know much about the "newer" ones.
Are you thinking of my comment on fordbarn? I was trying to explain the difference between the '48-'50's and the '51-'52's. If I muddied the water like that I'd better go back and add a post.
I thought '51-'52 was the same unless someone here can straighten us out......
I Have both and they are exsactly alike. Maybe the ***** are different, but I don't think so. The guages are the same, the radio hole, grill trim and everything is the same. The '51 doesn't have an ash tray though, and I've seen a picture of one with a V in it. Maybe someone knows what the deal is with that?
Yeah, that's the post I was thinking about. I had always thought the '51-52 where the same, body wise. I went back and read your post again and figured out what you meant. You failed to mention the one major outside difference between the '48-50 and the '51-52 is the back window, but hey, that's why my wife thinks I'm obsessed with these truck
They are the same. If they were different wouldn't the shop manual say the difference? The person could have just been mistaken. It would be like saying the grill on a '48-50 Mercury is the same as the Ford.

I parted a 51 and a 52 and they were identical, interior wise. The 51 did have a ashtray just like the 52 did. The trim piece on those always get nasty and pitted, at least they do here in Connecticut!
