had my front tires wear funny. Not on the edges but a wave type of wear in the center. I was sure it was a front end alinement, or worn balljoints, tie rod ends. Something of this sort.
because of the weird wear pattern they became very loud, and getting that wa, wa sound....
after checking things out i discovered the shocks have been on my truck for about 100,000 +
i replaced them then tied to get an alinement, but was refused....
the place i took it to the gentleman showed me “on the rack” it just didn’t need to be aligned and questioned me.
I told and showed him the issue and he reminded me that the shock is NOT only to give ya a more comfortable ride, but to keep the tire on the road...
I already knew this, but thinking something something more serious sometimes into play.
to sum it all up. Sometimes we make things out to be more serious than they relally are.
Are the tires AT and are you rotating them every 10K miles? I ran my tires longer than I should have and got the same wear patern that you described. My tire guy told me that was the case.
An hell i never rotate the tires....I bought it used. And they had replaced tires 2 at a time. So its still that way. The rear will wear out while the front are still good. So i just keep doing that.
