So I have a 1965 f100 that has been sitting for a few years when I went to move it the brakes no longer work I'm assuming I needed to replace the master cylinder and am wondering if I am better off to upgrade to a booster and/or a better master or stick with an original rebuild. Does anyone have any experience with this

I have stock power assist brakes on my 65 F250 with the single chamber master cylinder. I want to upgrade to a dual chamber master cylinder for safety's sake.
If Master needs to be replaced and decide to go with drum brakes suggest consider Duel bowl. Believe need to go with duel bowl drum MC as opposed to Disc/drum if decide to go with upgrade? Not sure if need a distribution valve with drum MC perhaps member can advise?

Do you intend to continue running all-wheel drums or, do you plan to convert to front discs and will they be power or manual brakes? This will need to be determined in order to give you the best advice as to what MC to use.
If switching to front discs, you'll also need to add a disc/drum brake valve to the system. --personally, switching to front discs is one of the best bang-for-the buck changes you can make but, that's just up to you what you decide to do.
First and Foremost Welcome to FTE: Suggest run advance search on topic: Above-drop down search and open the advance search, enter topic then narrow to the 61-66 forum, should come up with a number of options and suggestions. Perhaps other member's will chime in with additional advice?
If locating the components thru local salvage yards suggest also check front disc brake kits, do not believe much difference cost wise.
