Steering hard to turn?

Jjust got my 2017 superduty a few months ago. The steering seems harder to turn than my in laws 2016 f350. Does anyone else think their steering is harder to turn than a normal truck?

Mine is a little heavier than old trucks, I just figured it was because of the 6K front axle. I thought about putting a suicide **** on it for use around town, highway not a problem.

Mine feels a little stiff compared with my Dodge 1500, but my SD is a LOT more truck. Figure the stiffer steering is par for the course.

This might seem pretty basic but have you checked to make sure your front hubs are not locked? My last truck was delivered from the dealer with them locked and I have see a couple people post here that have had it happen to them.

Mine is notably heavier than past Super Duties I have owned or driven. I think it is by design. I have gotten used to it and have come to like the heavier feel.

Mine is heavier than my 06, and I also have come to like the heavier feel. I do have the Adaptive Steering thing, so it may be heavier if you don't.

Mine seems on par with my last F350, which was a 2012. Might be a tad heavier, but not so much where it’s noticeable or something I dislike about the truck. Steering feel changed for me though since I put my lift in along with the 37x13.5’s on 10” wide wheels.

The first thing I noticed about the 2017 was that the steering was much heavier feeling than my 2011. On the plus side you quickly get use to it and forget how your old truck handled.

Very heavy compared to my 2011. Only thing I liked better on the 11

Check if hubs are locked. I have manual hubs and was "oh crap" for about 2 weeks until I discovered they were locked from factory. Unlocked was MUCH different. Stiffer than 99.5 7.3L CC 4x4 and 02' X 4x4, but much better now.

Mine steers easier than the 2007 F350 I traded in. Always thought that truck steered hard. Still not "one finger power steering" like many much older trucks were.

True. That’s the first thing my salesman told me when I picked one up to test drive.

Correct. The 2011-2016 Super Duty had much more highly boosted power steering. Adaptive steering doesn't change the heavy feeling...it just requires less turns at parking lot speed.

Trading in my 2016 F-250 King Ranch for my 2017 F-350 dually was the heavy steering. It does not self-center very well either.

That said, I think I like the heavier steering feel better than the lighter feel on the previous gen.
