Escape transmission question.

Does anyone know if a transmission with a tag # 3L8P-FA will fit where a trans with tag # 2L8P-FB was used. They were both 4x4’s the 2L one is on a 3lt but don’t know what engine the 3L was from? Any help would be great.

Not having either in front of me, I would think that if housings can be swapped with reasonable ease, linkages and oil lines align you *may* be able to make it work.
No guarantees though.
