I'm painting my 78 Bronco this December and need to know some things. I'm debating colors right now. I've heard that black and blue are generally cheaper while reds and yellows cost more. If so, why is this? Also, I'm wanting to paint it either red or black. How much paint should I buy?

Red is one of the most expensive. The cost depends on the materials that are in the paint.
Black will show up every little flaw in the bodywork. The lighter you go, the more fudge factor there is.
Assuming you are doing doors, jams, tailgate, & etc., I would buy a gallon. Although you may not need that much, the 4th quart is cheap in comparison to the first 3 quarts. It's better to have too much than too little.
