2016 2.7. 20K miles. I took the truck to the dealer at 7K miles for "smoke at startup", which they couldn't reproduce. It won't smoke if started daily. It must sit 3-4 days for this to happen. The photos don't do it justice; the smoke consumes my garage. At startup, the exhaust is clean for a couple seconds, then It will belch smoke for 10-15 seconds before clearing up. I told the mechanics this but the found nothing, because they only let it sit one night.
Is this a valve guide bleeding down? I've had vehicles with bad valve guides/seals and they only puke smoke for a couple seconds. Something in the turbo bleeding, and increasing over time? I'm not totally convinced it's oil, but it sure seems excessive for "rich startup".
No codes I can find using my OBDii adapter and the Torque app.
Oil consumption isn't obvious. I change every 3500 miles. The oil does smell gassy. I should send in for analysis
