Question Odd Problems??

Back history: 2001 f350 V10 just installed another motor (oldie gave out at 327,000) I bought it not running. There is a really weird kind of slippage almost, that only happens when you take off from rest. It also doesn't always do it and i cant figure it out. It only does it for a split second like something is out of balance or loose. Once you get going it shifts fine and is smooth sailing like a catty. Up until 45 mph in which it proceeds to litterally try to hop down the road. Im fairly certain that is a problem with the brakes seeing as it only happens once theyre warmed up. I know the rotors are warped and the driver's caliper is freezing up because about the time it decideds to do the jiggle smoke and the lovely smell of roasting brakes billows out from the drivers side caliper. But i thought id get a second opionion on it. What really puzzles me is that little slippage at the very begging of take off. I dont want to use the word shutter because everyone loves to blame torque converter but if thats what it is then ill have to deal with it but what do yall think??
Thanks !

Grease the slip yoke on the rear driveshaft report back. Here’s a good write up of it with some pictures to help you out. 2004 F250 Slip Yoke Service

Make sure to also check all the u joints on the driveshaft while your working on it along with the carrier bearing if you truck has a 2 piece driveshaft. This won’t cure your hopping at 45 mph but it’s a safe bet that if the rest of the drive shaft is ok the the clunk starting off will be gone. You maybe experiencing the “super duty hop” if it stops at 48-50 mph, it’s not uncommon but until you have that list of stuff fixed it’s hard to diag. Also make sure all tires are properly inflated you could very well have a tire problem causing the hop but again with your list of stuff that needs attention I’d get tha squareed away and go from there.

I'm wondering if the ABS module wouldn't have a play in this?
If the sensors are detecting out of norms, would not the computers and ABS module take over and try to modulate brake pulse? Individual brake pulsing at speed to also give the impression of driveline issues-especially if the rotors are warped and/or pads are not compressing evenly.
I'm not positive when the "hill start" program came to be, but that slip in the beginning take-off sounds like it.

does the tranny have 327,000 with no rebuild?

how does the fluid look?

how does the fluid smell?

I have heard of cases in which once new fluid is put into old trannies...the tranny slips and mis behaves...the theory is the tranny was fine with the old fluid which has thickend with trans plate particles...and the particles in the fluid was the only thing allowing the plates to grip.

I'm going to do my best to answer everyones questions at once while going over the list of everything iv noticed that's wrong. Here goes nothing: I checked out the slipe yoke. Not a bit of grease on it. Good indication of problem. Also the carrier in the two piece shaft has a ton of play in it. That'll need to be addressed. I do believe that is the original trans. I was frightened, with good reason, to check the tranny fluid. Its dark brown. Not black and doesnt smell burnt. Due for a changing or should I just not mess with it because iv heard the same as above once you change it it starts slipping. Iv never heard of the super duty hop if anyone would fill me in. Also while I was under it i noticed that the sway bar bushings and links are well past due for changing. All these problems because for whatever reason this is has been my dream daily driver sense I was small. A 4 door 99-03 f350 dually. Thanks guys.

Forgot the ABS module. I'm not throwing codes for it. My scanner reads abs and airbags too. So i think we can eliminate that for the time being.
