But does anyone have a copy of the instructions on how to install the disc brake kit ?
I found out how to mount the hardware for the master sylinder online, but nothing about the disc conversion kit.
My kit is from LMC truck. I sent them an E-mail asking, but they did not have them.
They said they will try to ask the supplyer of the kit to send me an E-mail about the installation.
I am crossing my fingers, but if someone has a copy of it could you be so kind to send it by E-mail or post it here ?

Mc.
I'm not sure which kit you have but mine came from Speedway, These kits should all be similar. At the bottom of the detail section there is a link to a pdf instruction sheet.

Thank you very much.
It looks like I can use these instruction. I also found a little too short video on Youtube of someone installing a disc brake kit on a 53 F100. I think it is the same kit as mine.
I am crossing my fingers that the adapters will go on easy.

It isn't too difficult. Pretty straight forward. The only problem that I had was that the inside opening on one of the rotors was not chamfered and I ruined a grease seal before I realized what was wrong. A trip to the local NAPA and a quick grind with my die grinder and I was back in business.

Mc, I installed the Speedway kit last month. The only gotcha is the upper grease zerks have to be relocated 45 degrees to clear the adapter plate. My drills wouldn't so much as scratch that metal. Had to pay a machine shop for the job.

So I better check my rotors before starting the innstallation.
Do you have the torque specs for the bearings and the bolts on the bracket that holds the calipters ?

I will drive the car to the local car repair shop and start the work there.
So if I am stuck I will get help from the owner who also happenes to be my closest neighbour :-) .
He can also help me to re- route the exhaust pipe. I am pretty sure it will not fit with the new brake booster in place.

Thanks Rico. That video was helpfull. I think he mentioned 78 ftlbs for the calipter bracket ?
About the grease zerks Curt I don`t know what to do with them.
I will have to remove the upper one I guess. I am not planning on dismantle the king bolt this time. I think I need to do that if I want to drill a new whole and innstall a new grease zerk.
I guess I will just grease it before cutting of the upper one and deal with it later. Stupid I guess, but I only drive maybe 1500 km each year with this car so I will be good for a couple of years.
My dream is to install a new front suspension on this car. So that will take care of the problem with the upper grease nipple. If not I will have to dismantle kingbolt maybe to be able to drill the hole deep enough.

Don't do the kingpins unless there is significant play. It can be a tough job depending upon past use of your truck.

Ok. I will not do anything with the king pins. I will take the car to the local car mechanic garage and do the work there. The owner is my neighbour so I will do most of the work myself while he steps in everytime I make a mistake :-)
I guess I will have to move the exhaust muffler a bit to make room for the brake booster.

There is no guessing with brakes or torque values! Drop in to a Harbor Fright to pick up a low cost 1/2 inch drive torque wrench. Or buy a better one, but please don't guess.
