This is why i use auto zone (when appropriate vs Ford oe). They're everywhere i am, and they're very good at keeping track of your purchases for warrenty (better than o Reillys, and don't get me started on advance). Just have to deal with inexperience at the counter.... but that's most every parts counter these days.....

I've been averaging 4 years on batteries with my use and climate in my diesel trucks.

My batteries just turned 7 years old this month. The truck seems to crank just fine. I'm hoping to get through the winter on them as I don't like wrenching in the cold.

The past month or so I've noticed that my engine didn't seem to be cranking as fast as it used to. And then after the truck sat for 4 days last weekend I went to start it Tuesday morning and it barely started. Put in some new Duracell's from Sam's Club ($106 each) today. 7.5 years on the factory batteries. Not a bad run

A truck with a 7.3 has no where the electronics as a truck with the 6.7. Even the first year 6.7.

Well mine did. I was simply stating my experience with those batteries. I had a high end stereo, multiple amplifiers, a winch, lots of lights. It was a valid comparison...

I use Battery Tenders on all my vehicles. One car sits outside and I drive it about once a week...the factory battery is over 10-years-old and is like the day it was new. Another garage queen has a redtop that is over 10-years-old and same thing. I keep the tenders on full time over the winter months but I put the SD on the BT once or twice a week just to make sure the batteries are kept at maximum capacity.

My last set of Motorcraft batteries lasted just under 36 months. Swapped them out at the Ford parts dealer for a new set.

The driver's side battery on my 2016 is leaking too. Gonna replace with some AGM's soon.
