I've got a small amount of coolant leaking somewhere off the back of the motor. It's actually dripping onto the floor from the transmission pan. I haven't pinpointed a source. I checked the heater core lines at the firewall and didn't see anything.
The intake manifold was replaced 42k miles ago. When that was leaking, coolant would collect between the V of the motor. It's dry this time.
When I did this the first time I also changed the valve cover gaskets. This led me to needing to replace the plastic connectors at the firewall for the heater core (getting the valve covers off). The driver side band clamp was wet and I tightened it about a good 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
Underneath the coolant crossover on the Dorman appears to have been leaking for awhile. And it also wiggled easily once I gave it a little wiggle.
The block was pretty wet on the inside of the V.
The gasket areas were also very wet.
This may be oil though.
But no usual signs on intake manifold failure points.
Now what to do........ Replace the Dorman with new Dorman gaskets, replace the entire manifold with another Dorman, or replace the entire manifold with a Ford unit.
