I've been a Ford freak ever since I bought purchased my first Ford at 13. It was a 55 Ford Fairlane 2 door post 292 3 speed bucket seats. Almost every vehicle I've had since has been a Ford. I am currently working on two trucks. And 1950 F1 and a 1955 F100. I also have an 86 F-150 I run around in. And a 88 F350 that I use to pull my trailer with. I will get around to posting pictures when I get some good ones. I found this forum when I was investigating putting a Crown Victoria suspension in my 50. It looked good so I joined it.
I have a 51 F1 that has a Jag XJ12 front suspension. Jag IFS is easy and relatively inexpensive compared to other choices. Th CV IFS is a bit big for the F1, but doable.
Have fun with your builds and post pictures so we can follow along.
Thanks for all the welcomes. I have not been able to work on my trucks for several months due to physical conditions. But hope to be working on them soon. I recently seen a forum about putting a Crown Victoria front end on an old Ford truck and I have a mid 90s T-bird rear end I was going to adapt but I see that there's possibly a kit out there for it. I think the combination of those two would be a really nice ride. Mixerman, you make me jealous. One of my project wishes is to put a 50 COE on an older aluminum trailer and make it a motorhome. But it's just a dream at this point.
Welcome to the site. My first car was also a Ford. It was a '56 Crown Victoria with a blown 312 engine. But at 15, it was too much for me to fix so it got sold and I bought another '56 Ford. A Mainline with a worked 312. Aside from my forays into AMC, I have been a Ford guy.
As stated above, this is a great site with a lot of helpful folks.
Welcome Richard, to the FTE family. I think you will like it here, there are folks from beginners, to experts in just about every aspect of working on these wonderful old beauties. Haters and trolls are few and far between, and don't stick around long. Its very nice to have you here.
