So I'm going to be selling my excursion and there's a couple things I am curious about before I do. The first is would it be worth replacing the drivers seat leather and cushion? For what I would spend would I get a return on that money over what I would pay for the materials?
Does anyone have a good working factory CD player from an X with rear entertainment they would part with? Mines been intermittent for a while now and it would be nice if it worked.

Oh yeah I know where I would get it if I do replace it. Mines not ripped up yet just heavy creasing cracks on the lather entry bolster and worn cushion.
First impressions go a very, very long way when selling a car or a house. That first impression will either firm up your asking price or cause it to drop. Your choice. I would never sell a vehicle with a torn front seat. You will get your money back and then some with an Excursion.
One thing that bothers me when looking around at ones for sale, more than a ripped seat, is a worn out steering wheel. Maybe it's just because I'm sitting on the seat and my hands are actually on the wheel, but they really bug me. As Mike said, first impressions go a long way, and a decent steering wheel can certainly help those.
Thanks for bringing that up. I was thinking I would get the SEM paint and paint the steering wheel. I saw a thread about that not long ago. Can someone tell me the color for the tan interior on an EB or just send me a link to that thread. Found the thread.
I have used SEM Med Parchment. Its a tad light but looks great. Very easy to do. Remove the wheel and tape off the controls. Just make sure you clean the wheel very good for the paint to stick. I do several light coats to build up a nice smooth surface.
You're saying the SEM med parchment is lighter than the light tan of the interior? Do they make a color that's close to the brown? Where do you buy the SEM paints? Would you recommend using their plastic adhesion promoter on the wheel?
I think its lighter. It doesn't look out of place or anything. They make a Dark Med. Parchment but I don't have experience in using that color. I went with the Med Parchment by recommendations on this and other forums. I bought mine on Ebay.
I didn't use any promoter. I just clean the wheel with lacquer thinner.
I repainted this a couple weeks ago. Originally I painted it 3 years ago. Started to show some wear. I had some Med Parchment left over so I just used that.
