TPMS Issue

TPMS not showing any values for tire pressure on the dash. Has anyone had this issue after rotating tires? It shows one of my tires as low but does not show the pressure anymore. Stock tires and wheels.

It typically takes some time for them to reset and pop back up.

Did you do the relearn procedure after rotating?

No i did not, I was planning on trying that later. Guess I may need to do that, but I could have sworn it was working the other day.

When I rotated a couple thousand miles ago I did not do a relearn.. they showed blank for a few miles and then slowly came back up.

They will reacquire the signals, but the placement will be wrong. And, if you changed the tire pressures, front and backs, the TPMS system will be confused, looking for higher in the backs. I hope that makes sense.

Not true.

I have had a few sets of tires already on this truck, and them rotated several times. never once have i done the relearn procedure. the monitors alway end up reading the values in the correct locations. it usually takes a few miles though

That has not been my experience.

I wonder what the difference is? Why does the truck have a relearn procedure if it does it on its own?

Havent driven the truck since i drove it home 100 miles, after rotating the tires. Got in it today and the pressures were there as soon as i started it. Anyways, mine were spot on after rotating. There was never any delay, the low tire i had showed up on in the correct place even after rotating. Guess it was just being weird since i didnt drive the truck for a week or so.

vestigial organ? like your appendix? engineers made it better, but the people who write the manual don't know yet?

I did the relearn at first rotation. I intend to do the "let it learn on it's own" next time. maybe a year from now.. LOL
