2019 F-Series Super Duty Production Information

from another reliable source

Per yesterday’s FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin) Ford provided the following timetable and footnote regarding the 2018MY Balance Out & 2019MY F-Series Super Duty Job #1 timetable.

· 03/02/2018 – 2018MY Fleet Final Order Date
· 04/05/2018 – 2018MY Last Day to Spec Change
· 06/17/2018 – 2018MY Job Last Date

· 03/05/2018 – 2019MY Order Bank Open Date
· 05/17/2018 – 2019MY Scheduling Begins
· 06/18/2018 – 2019MY Job #1 Date

The following footnote was included…

***Due to the significant manufacturing complexities of balancing production plans for three vehicle lines at Kentucky Truck Plant, the 2018MY Super Duty had an unusual timing plan (November ’17 – June ’18). We are working with manufacturing to return to more normal Model Year timing for 2019MY and beyond***

So does this mean that I can order a 2019 on the 5th of march 2018? With deliveries beginning late June/July?

That's a bummer. Looks like the "new" is going to wear off quick with the 18's.

That's a pretty short build period for 2018. I guess I will have a classic.

2018 will certainly be a low production year compared to the 2017, which has gone long in the tooth already. If there were a time for changes, I would look at the 2019 model year as GM is supposed to come out with their redesign then. There's been talk that we may see the 10 speed transmission with that model.

Wonder if this explains why no 2018 Build and Price on Ford's website yet for Super Duty. Also there's the rumor of the new 7X V8 engine for the Super Duty for 2019.

No, it's all due to the changeover of the plant for Expedition and Navigator production. This will be pulling everything back together as '19 Expy and Navi should be starting about the same time.

10 speed coming in late 2019 for the 2020 SD. Expect a refresh then.

Somewhere I read the gas will get the 10 speed in. MY19, and the diesel in MY20.

That's possible if the gasser gets the 10R80 (or upgraded to 10R100) from the F150 the same as the 6.2L gets today. Production on the 10R140 is not scheduled to begin until Q3 2019.

That's only for the 2018 model year. No 2019's.

This is great news! Looks like I was pretty darn close on my estimate of knowing dates for the 2019 when I estimated December.

Lets just hope Ford gets their act in gear and at LEAST puts the B&O stereo in the 2019 Super Duty, if not wifi, and possibly smartphone remote start like their F150 does which "shares the same cab" (Ford is off their rocker that the 2018 super duty didn't get the B&O)

I have to say I sat in a 2017 super duty, and compared it back to back with the 2018 F150 with the B&O, and the stereo difference alone said its worth waiting for.

Great news, thanks for sharing!!

Maybe it is,,, for some. On the rare times that I have used my radio it was to listen to talk radio. I never really paid attention to it, however, as I remember it sounded fine to me.
That said, I realize that I'm a minority, and agree that a nice sound system is very important to many. Electronics is an area that General Motors always seems to outperform Ford. I'd venture to say that GM's (planned) redesigned 2019 aluminum truck is going to have lots of electronic goodies to attract the masses.

I was going to order an 18 Lariat until I saw this, maybe I'll just get a new 17 if they have a year end closeout next month as I need to use my PC offer by 01/18/18. Then wait and see what changes 19 models have and if its huge difference, trade it in for a 19 or holdout for a 2020.

2020 that sounds kind of Kool! Taking the 2020 to the lower 40!!
