I'm lurking here to find some info on what to look for and what maintenance/upgrades should be done to a used F250 before taking it on a tour of the Americas.
I might (let's face, it'll happen) ask 1 or 2 (25...) stupids questions.
Welcome mrblah and we hope you enjoy our forum. We have plenty of great people to answer questions and help problems. Glad you came out of the closet and we look forward to your journey both on the road and upgrades to your truck.
Do Canadians need to make a coming out on FTE or just lurkers?
Thanks! I'll admit that I'm still torn between a F250 or a Tundra. I know the F250 is built for heavier duties, but Toyota has a better reliability history than Ford...
Welcome to the site,..................& you already know the answer to THAT question !!
.
I really don't! Enlighten me!
My reasonning is that the F250 being built stronger might fare better in the light duty of dirt roads with a light camper at the back than a lighter duty Tundra.
Also, the Tundra might be more thirsty than the powerstroke in the Ford?
Ford all the way. I am now on the parts side of things. I see Toyota people in for high dollar parts on 16's and 17's that should not need replace.
They have not made a vehicle after the 70's Corona. They were not the prettiest but they were a million mile car.
I'd like to metnion I'm not trying to start anything here. I'm just trying to pick the most reliable truck for my future application (long road trip in North and south america).
I've been looking for a "What you should do to your F250 before it breaks down" thread but I haven't found one. I'd like to know the preventetive maintenance needed to make it last!
