Well I just got my new 3"in/out magnaflow put on and I think it sounds pretty good. I had been running my exhaust just dumped out after the bassani Y-pipe and that was to much drone and I couldn't open the back window. BUt now its nice and quiet in the cab and it still has some rumble out back. Not as much rumble as I would have thought but thats ok cause I am gonna get the bassani headers eventually not to mention tons of other toys for the engine whenever I get a steady job.
Jon, did the Magnaflows give you any noticable increase in ponies? Have you had time to see if there is an improvement in your mileage? I'm considering the Magnaflows, but want something that provides performance increase in the lower rpm band. Where do you see your increases? I know I'm full of questions, but I appreciate your input.
Super, I did not really notice an increase because I was running a bassani y-pipe dumped outright after the cat...so if anythign it would have decreased but it didn't notice a decrease. I really am impressed so far. I just did a run on the highway from ATL to Auburn and it makes so little noise at cruising its great in the cab. i can still hear the rummble out back with my window down so it didn't kill the sound just the inside noise which is what I wanted. the millage will get better I am sure becaue it is a straight thru design rather than baffles and what not....great mufflers.
Sounds like you got what you were looking for. That thing must have been loud enough to wake the neighbors before the Magnaflows. Hey, for your truck's sake, I hope you get steady work soon! Good luck.
