Looking for a little more help from the parts gurus. 1991 LTS8000. Electric wiper-washer switch. This is a slide type switch with 8 pins out the back. I have a number D3AB 17A553 B1C stamped on the front but it is apparently an engineering number. Our used parts source struck out. I tried making this one operable again, but the contacts are just too far gone. Thought I would see if ND or another member could locate one through their obsolete parts contacts. I didn't find anything on ebay and Northside Ford in Portland couldn't seem to find one either.
Same switch as '73-'78 LTD use with intermittent wipers:D3AZ-17A553-D .. Wiper Switch / Marked: D3AB-17A553-B1C (Motorcraft SW-1155-A) / NAPA ECH WS6161 / Obsolete from Ford.
Also same as 1975/91 Econoline. There's a bunch of these available NOS but since you can get it from NAPA...
Northside had me aggravated to the point that, if they were on this side of the state, I would have been throwing things at them. The part that came out of the Eclin box was stamped Motorcraft with the same part number also.

If a vehicle is more than 10 years old, some parts clucks don't want to mess with them.
Some of these parts clucks are only computer certified techs, so they have limited Ford parts catalog experience.
Some of these clucks couldn't look up a part number in a catalog if their lives depended on it!
The reason is, on the newer stuff, all that's required to get ALL the part numbers for the entire vehicle, is to type the vehicles specific VIN into Ford's computer system.
But this doesn't work on the older stuff like your 1991...and since some of these clucks don't have a clue, when you ask for something, they just "shine you on!"
And good luck getting a part number, whether the part is obsolete or not. One thing these clucks know is, if they give out part numbers, people can search on line for them and get better prices.
When I was in the biz, most parts guys cared about the vehicles, some knew the history of FoMoCo. But today, most of these clucks only care about a paycheck.
