Hi guys, so i noticed a small scratch on my tailgate today and upon further inspection i noticed that it when in the down position it actually is resting on the bumper. There is a little slack in cables ... not good ...

Has anyone else had this issue? Here are some pics. Nothing has been done to the tailgate or bumper aftermarket wise, bone stock.

 

Just checked mine. I have a solid inch of clearance all the way across - doesn't come close to touching. Sounds like yours needs to be adjusted for sure.

 

Mine is similar, about an inch of clearance. Unfortunately that's far less than my 2006 SD had, and I was used to leaving my keys on my bumper and being able to open my tailgate...you can see where this is going. I now have a small scratch between the "D" and the "U"......

 

Looks like your bumper needs adjustment.

 

Yep that’s exactly what it was. Lowered and leveled the bumper and it clears now just fine. Thanks for the tip.
