Cab metal work

Getting ready to start on the metal work on the fenders but figured I would get a little practice on the cab behind the bed. Several large dents in various places and substantial oil canning. I removed the dents I could get to with hammer and dolly, used a stud welder on the ones behind structure, and removed the oil canning with my shrinking disc. I still have some lows maybe 1/16-1/32 deep. Is this good enough for filler and blocking or do I need to keep at it? Not at that point just wondering what the rule was on when to call it and move to next trouble area.

If you use a longer straight edge there you will likely find high spots around the perimeter of the low. Keep going.

Thanks Tinman you were right, I checked after dinner and went back at it. More dolly work on the highs and shrinking disc treatment. It feels pretty good by hand, what do you think?

Much better. I would strip the area to bare metal and sand smooth. using a guide coat and a hard block with 220 grit will tell you how close you are. Ten minutes of bumping can save hours of sanding bondo....
