I got the truck plug in that was suggested on form. got setup with Forscan and also got a blue tooth plug for laptop . cannot get it to connect to the plugin in the truck.
Does your adapter have a toggle switch on it? Try both settings. Make sure the truck is in the on position. My laptop (windows 10) didn't auto install the driver for it. I went to control panel, device manager and then clicked on the adapter and it downloaded the driver.
Which specific adapter did you order? I'm assuming its the usb one you're trying?
I had some trouble with mine as well. It wouldn't work for me unless the truck was running. I have a platinum so theres a push start (not sure if all the 2017s have push start or not) so there isn't a way to turn a key to the run position but not have the truck on. If you could explain the problem a bit further I'm sure I could help. Im a software engineer and provide technical support for customers at work. I'm sure I could use an application to remote into your computer and help you connect etc etc. Let me know if you'd like to do that. We could start out just having you explain step by step what you're doing and what isn't functioning properly.
MY truck has a key that I turn on. I got the OBDLink MX. I have a Toshiba laptop that has Windows 10 on it. I got a blue tooth plugin for the laptop. I have the forscan. But i must B doing some thing wrong because i can not get it to connect. I am at a loss. did the steps listed on the first page of the post but no go.

push the start button without your foot on the brake, it puts the truck in accessory mode.
I didn't have to use a USB adapter for bluetooth on my laptop, so lets start there. Is it connecting to the computer properly? After it does, try connecting forscan, try several times in a row if it doesn't work the first. There is a button on the front of your OBDLink MX that you'll need to press to get it to connect to the computer. Once you get the ODBLink MX connected to the computer you'll then have to connect ForSCAN. That took me a couple times as well to get it to connect.
I tried pushing start button on the OBDLink several times. foot not on brake. truck in run .IT just seams like the laptop and the OBDLink are not connected.
