Can’t find any parts for my 88 f350 7.3

why is it I can’t find any parts for my 88 F350 7.3?

I have had my truck for exactly 30 days and I have yet to be able to find any of the parts I have looked for
such as the Fuel pick up in the tank as well as the pre filler that sits down in the tank
an oil dip stick as well as window crank handles?

Please if you by any chance have any exact part numbers for the exact year make modle please let me know & where you got them from

Have you tried fordparts.com you need to use IE for the pictures. The part # listed may not have the prefix

welcome to FTE.
the main reason you can not find parts is because the parts store counter monkeys are dumber than a box of rocks. if it is not in the computer, it is not available.

I'm not sure the problem here are the counter monkeys, but the OP. The internet is literally brimming with parts for these IDI's. car-part.com, rockauto.com, fordparts.com and if all else fails, a dealer can get almost anything if you give them time to ship it.

i second rockauto.com. Probably one of the easiest ways to find parts!

Tom: The OP is a so I'm not gonna pick on him...too much. But the facts are, some people in today's world make very little effort to find parts.

For example, the dipstick is obsolete, and since I don't know if chain auto parts stores would have a dipstick for a "cornbinder" diesel, I found and listed 11 of the puppies NOS

The window cranks are available from Ford and were used on a gazillion different vehicles. Did the OP try a dealer? Probably not.

of course you guys are correct. i was just referring to his comment on how auto parts store can not find any parts for it.
a lot of people do not realize auto parts store computers are pretty much useless for oddball parts on vehicles over 15-20 years old.
and most parts store counter monkeys no longer know how to use parts books.
heck, a lot of them these days have problems using the computers to find parts.

Thanks for your help guys even the people Ford parts department were useless they kept telling me they couldn’t give me a part number for any of the stuff I was looking for that’s why I was mainly getting so frustrated even afford was saying I couldn’t get parts even went as far as to tell me they don’t make parts after 10 years so they couldn’t tell me anything

I also tried using rock auto and all the other online part stores but when it came to pulling up the part for my specific year for the fuel pick up none of them more the ones for my vehicle they buried in several different ways whether it was the curve of the pipe or the actual wire harness I ordered parts that clean that were matched for my vehicle but when they came in they weren’t the right ones

i’m glad to know that there are parts out here for this vehicle I was starting to get extremely stressed out thinking I wasn’t gonna be able to find parts for this vehicle like I said I’ve only owned it for 30 days now I’m glad to know there’s people out here in the forum that are willing to help thanks again everybody

the stealerships are out for one thing money. If they give you the part # you do an internet search and find the aftermarket part. The couter guy was just being a jerk.

exactly. the dealer i go to has real parts men like Bill (number dummy) used to be, and they are not afraid to look up something in the microfich if it is not in the computer.
i find it really funny when one of the new guys says "we cant get that, it is N.L.A." then 30 seconds later one of the old timers will say "it will be here tomorrow afternoon.
that is the main reason the new guys are generally not allowed to work the counter or phones, and only deal with the repair shop "techs"
