Many forget the “other” countries and the sacrifices they made to end WWI. Hope everyone thanks their Veterans today and keeps supporting them everyday. All gave some, Some gave all.

Old men start wars, young men fight them. When duty called, you answered the demand. It is with great pride and humility that I observe the nation’s honor to its service men. To all the now old men on this forum that served their country, I salute you.

I was drafted in Jan 67 and went in kicking and screaming like many others. Once in you Form a very special bond with your “band of brothers”. I was lucky and came out 23 months later but 5 brothers are now immortalized on the “wall”. I will never forget .....

The treaty was not signed in a box car, it was signed in Marshall Foch's personal railway coach that was located in the town of Compiegne.

When the Germans defeated the French Army in 1940, Hitler had them sign the treaty in the same coach, then had it blown up.

There is a video of Hitler doing a "jig" after the treaty was concluded (the coach is visible in the background), but the video was looped.

Hitler referred to the Germans that signed the Versailles Treaty...as the "November Criminals."

Wow, lots of history and making me think. Thanks to ALL my brothers and sisters that have served. Something we use to say...I can't remember where it came from was..................WE THE WILLING, LED BY THE UNKNOWING, ARE ASKED TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE UNGRATEFUL. WE HAVE COME SO FAR, WITH SO LITTLE, THAT WE ARE NOW QUALIFIED TO DO ANYTHING...WITH NOTHING!
