I am all for remembering the people who died in 9-11... but what about all the people who died for our freedom. If we are going to put our flags at half mast lets do it for the 287 people who have died so far in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the 87 that died as a result of Operation Enduring Freedom. And how about the people who are still unnacounted for from previous "wars?" Like the 1,882 people still missing from Vietnam? or the 8,100 from Korea? or 126 from the Cold War? or the 78,773 from WWII?!
When do they get their day?
Like I said, it is a shame all those people died needlessly on 9-11... but its all a matter of time before we forget about them too. Just like everyone else who "died for our country"...
A sure to be unpopular assessment, but not entirely inaccurate.
I'll definately participate in the moment of silence - I intend to be asleep at 5:46 am. Although two years on this day I was up very shortly after six.
I'm proud to be an American and our president's proclaimed this as a day to fly our flag at half staff. I agree with we as a nation need to honor those who serve so i'm not slamming that however,
This is to honor the innocent victims who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

There was a car in the parking lot at my job today, it had all sorts of patriotic stuff written on the back window with red, white, and blue shoe polish or something. "Support our troops!" "Never forget 9/11!" Etc. etc. The car was a new Subaru wagon...
I have no flags on my Bronco, but it is made in America.
Never Forget Any Of Them !!!
I got a '78 Delta 88 that I painted Red~White~n~Blue on 9/14/01. It's my Grand old Olds. I'll most certainly be drivin' it around today in honor of ALL Americans who've lost their lives !!
I was actually out to breakfast this morning, and the local selectman was there as well. He stood up from eating, blew a whistle, and asked everyone to hold a moment of silence for all of those lost at 8:46am two years ago. I then heard him get on his cell and tell whomever was on the other end to go around town and immediately lower all flags to half mast. I wasnt expecting it, and started to get that glisten in my eyes.
