Engine Swap

I have a 2008 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 with the dreaded 5.4. I have already replaced the timing set twice and I am constantly dealing with an unreliable engine. on a good day this engine is under powered. Buying a new truck at the moment is not an option. So I am thinking about swaping the motor for the new 5.0 or even the new 6.2. I know I will have to replace the computer and probably the wiring harness But other that that what issues will I have? Will these motors bolt up to the bell housing i currently have. Ive see a couple company selling kits to update to the drive by wire etc... Thanks in advance.

I’ve got a 2006 5.4l that was improved greatly by a 5 Star tuner I put in it. I did that after I got a 2011 6.2l because the 2006 5.4l felt so under powered after driving the 6.2.

I’m just throwing that out as something you may want to try before swapping engines.

I have a complete 6.2 with trans and transfer case if you decide to go that route.

From what I understand this is next to impossible without a complete donor truck.

nothing is 'impossible', but locking up the cam phasers (if not done already) and slapping a centrifugal supercharger on the 5.4L should get you same or better power with a lot less heartache and cash outlay.
