From what I have read in the archives a 351w has two temp sensors. the one by the thermostat housing is for the gauge in the dash the other is for the computer. where is the one for the computer? can I get to it to change it without it being a major project? thanks in advance
yup it should be right there a bout a 1/3 back on the intake from the front, dam i dont know how to explain it ! it should be on the drivers side of the plenium between the front and they midway point. hope this helps? DW
the one for the gage should be right by the front, i think the gage one is smaller in dia, it too late tonight but if i remeber in the am i'll go look at mine and refesh my memory. DW
Just to clarify the one next to the intake plenum on TOP of the intake manafold is the Air temp sensor. The one on the screw-in nipple just above the T-stat where the TB heater hose goes into is the Water temp sensor. That is the one that goes to your gauge.
Ok I linked a picture of the sensor I was looking at for the water temp. I know there is the small sensor by the T stat housing for the gauge. I want to change the water temp sensor for the computer.
The coolant temp. sensor for the computer faces the front of the engine AT the front of the engine just above the water neck for the thermostat. It threads into a fitting in the lower intake plenum. Its a two-wire connector with a LT GRN-RED wire and a GRY-RED wire coming from it.
