I don't think your van uses a TV cable. It uses a vacuum modulator valve, so if you suspect that, you should check the line going from the intake manifold to the valve. There is a steel segment that leads from above intake through a short rubber section to the passenger side of the transmission, near the catalytic converter, then another rubber section to the valve. First check to see if there is ATF in the lines, then check for leaks.
You're right, I forgot about that. It is the kickdown cable. That part is no longer available from dealers. (The vacuum modulator replaces the old style TV cable.)
I would suggest a salvage yard, but if you could find one in Michigan, it may be in just as bad condition.
The other option is to find something close, like for a Ranger or Explorer, and adapt it.
Is the factory part number FO9Z7A187A? If so, I've possibly located one. But I don't trust the parts guy at the local ford dealer looked it up correctly.
