Today I got my hose kit for my Toyota power steering conversion from mid fifty. Now I have read that I may need the Pressure hose bubble flare for the pressure side. Can some one tell me for sure that I need it even with this hose kit. Thanks
I don't have any experience with those hose kits. I do know that the inlet and outlet fittings on the Toyota steering box are different sizes (but just barely) I think one is a 16mm and the other is a 17mm and can easily be mixed up.
I used wrecking yard parts and came up with my set of hoses back when I did my conversion.

What end fitting are you talking about? What pump are you using? I used the same kit, and it came with all the fittings needed, regardless of a saginaw, or stock ford plastic pump. Good luck.

I am talking about the fitting on the pressure side of the steering box. I read you may need it on the box. I bought a Saginaw box with brackets to fit my 289. They say it goes on the pressure side before Pressure hose goes on. I got my box years back with the pressure hose cut 4 inch's up and return line the same and no bubble flare on it. If the original hose did not come with a bubble flair, then you won't need it. Mine didn't have the bubble flair, and the fitting pack will work. Good luck.
Sorry. I read into it more. I'll have to recheck mine. I haven't run it yet, but like you, I had the cut off hose still in the box. The hose fittings tightened up very well.

This looks good, Thanks for getting back to me. I went out this morning and dug in my front end box and in a medicine bottle labeled steering box was the two brass drop in seats for the steering box for the hoses to seat on. I will wait and see when I start it in a few months. Thanks again.
