Bronco frame swap

So I heard from a friend that forever ago someone took a Bronco frame from out under it and put a full size truck frame underneath with a bit of fabrication and had 3/4 suspension. And it didn't stop there he made a bigger block v8 fit in it.

Has anyone else heard about this? If I can get more information I want to make this my new project.

I haven't heard of it, but anything's possible given enough time, money and determination.

One thing to keep in mind is that, unlike 'most every other vehicle, from what I understand the VIN on early Broncos is on the frame. So if you do a frame swap you might run into registration issues.

And that aside, if you were successful in titling it you'd end up with a vehicle with 3/4 ton parts and the legal weight carrying and towing capacities of a Bronco, because you really can't increase the legal weight limits on a vehicle.

A better approach might be to start with a 3/4 ton truck and swap a Bronco body on it. You might still have titling problems because you are losing the cab, which is where the VIN is on the truck. But if you can get past that, at least you officially have a 3/4 ton truck so you should be able to keep the 3/4 ton ratings.

And I'm still not saying it would be an easy swap.

modifications for specific purposes

"any 1 heard about this?"
in the 34 yrs of ownership I've heard/seen a lot of different ideas generated...some better than others.
Several of the most well done were "4dor bronks". "Extend-da-bed" the worse, "chop-da-top & sportify" about in the middle (I think it wuz Foose's).

ur's sounds like a great project.
What is the final application of this new vehicle?
Keep us informed as U go!
