Parking sensor

I need to replace a couple of the sensors at the rear bumper on my 2000 Excursion. Hard to find the version for the 2000, but plenty for 2001 and newer. Anyone who knows if the 2001 sensor will technically work, iow is it the same connection? My idea is to replace both the sensor and sensor bracket which I would expect to fit the bumper.

Hard to find because nobody list the application ?

Or does the sensor itself look different then the one pictured ?

On my 2001 ex I just bought the set of 4 "generic" ones off eBay for $30 and they fit just about every vehicle of that era.

To plug it into my Ex wiring I had to trim one little plastic tang off the sensor with a razor. No big deal.

An eBay search for 2000 turns up no results, plenty of vendors for the 2001

Yes, that was my conclusion also. A lot of options for 2001 and newer, but nothing for 2000. Found a dealer selling the model for 2000, but then very expensive. So therefore I am planning to use the 2001, and if required make some adjustment so it will fit. I think that would work as long as the technical part with wiring works.

My guess it is just a database listing issue. 2005 Ex guys run into this on some parts because the 05 superduty started getting different parts then the Ex.

IIRC, the backup sensor option was a late availability option in 2000 as well, so they probably looked at an option list that didn't show it as available at the beginning of the model year.

I have used sensors from as new as 08 on my 2001 without any problems. They are all the same. I've pulled them off Expys and Escapes, and they all work on my truck.
