How do I know what rear diff I have?

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2006 F350 2WD Extended Cab. It seems that there may have been different rear differentials installed in 2006? My truck is an old company fleet vehicle , XL trim. How do I know if it has the 10.5 ring gear or something different? I would like to change the pinion seal when I remove the driveshaft next weekend (replacing u-joints), and there seems to be different seal sizes.

Also, was there different carrier bearings used as well?

I don't have your answer, but let the group know if it is a SRW or dually F-350, that may help to determine the rear axle used.

You would have the 10.5" Ford/Sterling rear end.

If the tag is still bolted to the rear cover, it will id your rear end also.

I think the axle code on the sticker in the door jamb will tell you the gear ratio and if it is limited slip or open.

Pinion seal for a 10.5 and 10.25 should be the same since they use the same housing.
