My truck is stock height with 20 rims so I think tires measure around 34"..so what drop is everyone going with 6" or 8" can't decide what I need to get. Any suggestions before I drop $300 on a hitch

I've got a 6" (2.5" receiver) if anyone wants it! Going up to a 4" lift so I think I'll need the 8"..

I installed a set of 2016 rear spring spacers that dropped the back-end 1.5 inches. I'm using a 5 inch drop receiver hitch for my bass boat. Lowering the back-end also helped being able to use the tailgate steps to get into the bed.

I purchased a 6, but was not happy with how my car hauler sat nose high. I went to an 8 and it is perfect. I recommend the 8.

I've got the 6" without the gauge. I've got 20" wheels in the KR. Love it but I need the 8" to get my bike trailer to sit level. Anyone?

KR with leveling kit and 35" tires. I bought the 8" drop 180 hitch. 6" would have been plenty for any of my trailers but good to have the extra drop if I ever needed it.

I've got 20" tires and went with the 8". Perfect for my trailer. In reality... depends on the trailer you are towing with.

That's my thought also. I don't think there's a universal answer. I've got a 6 inch Weigh Safe and it works for all 4 of my trailers. But the truck has the stock tires/wheels on it.
2 of the trailers are 7x18 enclosed. One is a 6x12 dump and the other is a 21' tilt bed.

That's correct. I went with 10" because one 4x8 trailer needs all 10", the other 5x8 needs 8" and the horse trailer only needs 4". You can buy replacement shanks for around $75 if you aren't happy with your first choice. I only want to carry 1 hitch so I went with 10". You could also cut off the extra length if you wanted to.

Does your truck have a power tailgate? I was worried about the tailgate hiting the tongue jack on either my travel trailer or car hauler so I went this route and just installed my EDH hitch on it. It clearly misses the jacks now.

I'm worried about leaving this hitch on considering how expensive it was. If you all leave the hitch constantly mounted, what receiver lock are you using?
