Hello everyone, i recently bought an 01 expy 4wd eddie bauer and im encountering a PATS issue so here it is in detail.
Cluster has 2 warning illuminations and odometer stays illuminated so i have to unhook the battery, every time i hook the battery up the warning chime will begin even with the key OUT of the ignition and the theft light blinks, i have to insert the key turn the key to run, let the motor turn over once or twice, shut it back completely off then i can start the truck. Sometimes though, that doesnt work and when that does not work i have to disconnect the battery, insert the key in the ignition to the ON position, then reconnect the battery and i can start the truck fine, along with that the instrument cluster gauges occasionally jerk and go nuts and the turn signals do not flash they stay illuminated. Now possibly unrelated problem but the front blower motor is inoperative as well. So i chanced a junkyard cluster and took it to the stealership and they installed it and programmed it and the problem persisted. I'm just trying to find out which direction i need to go next. I bought the truck very cheap and id love to drive it without having to perform voodoo rituals to start the damn thing. any input is loved! thanks guys!

 

Pull the kick panels in the front and inspect your ground lugs and connections. Start with the driver's side.
