Dealer said Ford had issues with their lining and he installed Rino, now I have major regrets.
Rino Linings, pure junk, not sure how they stay in business. Dealer had Rino installed and its faded after a year and I keep my truck in a garage. Had bad large stain on it, thought it was rust????? NOTHING will remove it, power wash, CLR, tried everything I can think of. It gouges EASY, looks like crap and I wish I had NEVER done it.
My trailer bed was done in Line X, sat out in the sun for 6 years in Phoenix and herein Tex for 5 years. Its taken a BEATING hauling rocks, metal you name it, no gouges, only slightly faded and does not stain.
Don't warranty as it does NOT cover: "gouged, dented, chipped, intentionally pulled, removed as required by body work, subjected to stains or soils from chemicals such as paint strippers or solvents, or damaged due to natural causes such as hail or lightning. Additionally, this warranty does not cover natural sun fade on products." http://liners.rhinolinings.com/userF...rranty-usa.pdf
In other words, NOTHING!
Anyone know if it can be removed without destroying the bed?
Hmmm....I just had Rhino liner installed and I had the top coat sprayed to prevent fading. I personally wanted Rhino because it preferred the rubbery feel as opposed to Line X, and I didn't want material sliding all over the bed in turns.
When I bought my truck a couple of weeks ago, I contemplated on a Rhino vs Line X liner. I did my research and compared prices. I heard and read both pros and cons on each product. I spoke with actual owners who owned both, and I never really heard any bad things about each product. The most important thing about each application is PREP WORK prior to spraying.
I checked with the Line X dealer here and he wanted $598 for the liner. However, he stated that if I wanted a guarantee to not to fade he would charge me an additional $150, totaling $748.
I then called the Rhino dealer and spoke to him in length regarding his prep work and described in detail what he does prior to spraying. It was almost the exact process as Line X. Rhino's price was $375, but he also had a fade guarantee for a top coat spray for an additional $65, totaling $440.
Needless to say, I went with Rhino. So far, I couldn't be happier.
Around 25 years ago I had Rhino sprayed in the truck bed...you couldn't remove it with an air chisel! You could hardly cut it with a utility knife. Maybe the formula of Rhino Lining has changed.
I don't find the texture of Rino rubbery at all, in fact its quite thin and hard. Then the stains, WOW, seems to be a part of it, nothing will remove it. I know its not rust, but my power sprayer @4000 psi does not remove, nor does CLR, soaps anything I have tried...the bed looks like crap! Overall not at Line X level IMO.
I know my comparison is not direct, but I had my Jeep YJ's interior sprayed with Rhino 12 years ago. It has not faded or stained in any way. And, it is WAY thicker and does have a rubbery feel.
Not sure if the formula has changed or if they have different types to choose from now.

seems off to me just with the staining alone.
Maybe they did change the formula, no rubbery feel at all, hard as a rock and you can see on the edge how thick it is.
