I had Rhino in my last truck and like others it was very rubbery feelings, outside of the fading I liked it a lot as nothing slid around.
Interesting, mine is hard nor rubbery at all, they have either changed the formula or they used something else besides RINO
If you look at the pics of bed NOTE the back vertical piece behind the cab, note how black it is as compared to the rest of the truck, looks different and I will got out to the barn a bit later to see if it FEELS different.

Doesn't look like the Rhino lining from days of old. Like you said maybe they changed the formula and cut back on the millage they apply. I had a local shop do mine that the dealer uses and they did a great job. My truck bed does stay covered to protect my 5th wheel hitch so that helps.
Have to admit 17Oaks, that does look crappy. Sorta looks like Ft. Benning mud.
Good old red Georgia clay!! My Dad was at Ft. Benning for training with the 2nd Armored Division in WW2. He took us there in the mid 50's on our way to the Smokey Mountains. What a trip in a '54 DeSoto!!
I did so much research into bed liners. If it's good enough for the military its good enough for me.
YES!! Did the complete inside of my Jeep Rubicon, my military trailer in Line X and in spite of 6 years in the Phoenix desert, no stains, no peeling, no serious fade, no shoes, no shirt and no problem...But bought my Ford in a small town and there was no Line X dealer just a WhyNo!
I chose the factory Ford liner and a factory rubber bed mat to make it softer on the knees, reduce stuff from sliding around and not wear the bottom of my hockey bag. It's worked great for me so far!
That's a horrible train of thought. If you have been in the military, you would know they only buy the cheapest products from the lowest bidder.
Well Line X was also on Myth busters, they lined a concrete wall and blew them up and wall lined with Line X held together. I just think Line X holds up over time better. I've had 2 trucks with it. Very Happy
It's not so much the product, it's the dealer who installs it.
I went with LineX because the dealer had excellent 5 star reviews and also an excellent prep job. The Rhino dealer got 3.5 stars with quality complaints.
It was worth it to me to spend the extra $100 bucks to get a better job and no hassle, no BS if I ever need to use the lifetime warranty. Plus the LineX guy made a cool billet aluminum LineX tag.
