I honestly dont know the real name for it, but the vent that you manually operated close to the emergency brake release. it let outside air in the cab.
what year was the last year this was available?
does the plate just need to be knocked out and find some trim pieces to install and make it work?
I am a fan of the under dash fresh air vents on vintage vehicles, and really wish our trucks had it. I believe the last year was some time around 1982. I know the 1985 we had didn't have them. The problem with adding them would be the hood release, since the kick panels are different. Otherwise, I would have already done this to both my truck.
I miss the old school vents. Not to offend anyone, we always called them "crotch coolers"
the best part was from spring to fall the floor never ever had dust or dirt on it. 60 mph with those open and the vent windows open, and the rear window slid open..... pure A/C....
