1968 Ford Step Van
I have a 1968 Ford Step Van that I am not sure of the Model in order to find parts. I believe it is a P350 but not sure. The VIN is GSOWLC88995 but everywhere I go to enter this it says is incorrect. Anyone know where to get parts? Ford is no help but NAPA seems to but not sure if is a P350.
Not sure of model

The VIN
is GSOWLC88995
but everywhere I go to enter this it says is
incorrect.
First 5 digits are incorrect, last 6 digits might be correct.
1967/77 P350 will have 8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle.
Sample 1968 P350 VIN: P35BHC12345
P35 = P350 (P Series Parcel Delivery) / B = 300 1V I-6 / H = Lorain OH Assembly Plant / C12345 = 1968.
This appears to be a P series rolling chassis with the aftermarket body mounted to it.

5 lug wheels, this is a P500.
If this is a Ford vehicle, the first 3 digits of the 11 digit VIN is the series code.
P10 = P100; P35 = P350; P40 = P400; P50 = P500.
1964/77 P500 has 13" x 2 1/4" front brakes; 14 1/8" x 3 1/2" rear brakes.

Maybe the VIN is from the body company?
Can you post a photo of the VIN? Is there any emblem anywhere on the truck that refers to a body company?

G50 = P500 diesel.
W = Dorset 363 cid 6 cylinder diesel.
L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant.
C88995 = 1968.

Do you have a picture of the engine? Most everyone on here can tell you what type of engine it is by looking at it. Fe, 460, 351, 5.0 ext

Our little early 80's Datsun towmotor has the same exact kind of master cylinder set up, bit smaller, but mounted the same.
Open the hood, do you see a distributor and plug wires? Gas motor. No plug wires? Diesel.
Go swipe the exhaust pipe and see what it smells like?
Got a tach on the dash? Does it only got to like 3000 rpm? Diesel.

Advice I have received is to take the old Master Cylinder out and take it to NAPA to try to find something to replace it and the same with the wheel cylinders. I do believe this is a gas engine not diesel.

The G50 VIN series code decodes to a P500 with a diesel engine (upper pic).
The W VIN engine code decodes to a Dorset 363 cid 6 cylinder diesel (lower pic).
If a gas engine is present, the engine was swapped.
