I need a stand alone engine computer for my bronco 2. The reason for this is because im building a turbo system with 2.9 (rebuilt and strengthend) and a Turbonetics T-3 Turbo. the only problem I know that i will have is the engine computer not opening up the fuel injectors enought to keep the engine from going lean. If anyone knows where i could get one let me know, or were i can get a custom computer chip PLEASE let me know.
You might try recyclers or u-pull-it yards.Remember 87b2 ecu units are specific. whether you have 87b2 - 2wheel, 1type & 4x4 version has a different unit. they are specic to 1987 bronco II or
ranger. - no other years are cpmpatable. I know I have had 2 find one. there was only 2 in norhtern alberta & i bought them both.
one unit was crap @ 138.00 - no return,refund,no-credit & no
warranty, I have yet to go back there since they sold it to my wife & said well the truck was running when it came in. You can also
try rebuilders- parts stores - napa etc. as Fords no longer makes them. see 87b2 forms over the last 10 days.
No ,it's okay . I was able to get another. the info was for you,if
you could not locate one at a salvage yard. You may want to try rebuilders- parts stores like uap/napa etc. from the used prices I paid 107.00 & $138.00. The one from napa was 149.00 with a 1 year warranty, there was a $100.00 core charge for your old one.
they siad it would take from 3-7 days & I could not wait that long.
we both use our vehicles,my wife drives 150km = 90miles round trip daily out to the coal mine.
