Listen to the others and pay close attention to your degas bottle. If at all possible you need to do a coolant pressure test while driving. You should also hook up an OBD II type scan system and look at all of the main conditions such as ECT/EOT deltas, FICM, battery voltage, HPOP, IPR etc.
It was a STEEP learning curve for me as I had never owned a 6.0 before.
I still love my Ex-It is an Eddie Bauer model like yours but with the blue and gold colors.
If you have any questions I can PM you my cell number if need be.

Hey Rob, I brought my OBD scanner (Lemur BlueDriver) with me the night I met it, and the only issue was a faulty ABS sensor on the front passenger side. The guy actually had the part but just hadn't gotten around to installing it yet. I'm having my mechanic put it on when I get my safety done this upcoming Monday.
One of my first projects is to install a double-din Android stereo, and I'll be installing the Torque Pro app so I can monitor all of my vehicle functions right on my stereo.
No need to panic, get s scangauge2 or bluetooth adapter and a smartphone app.
Monitor you coolant and oil temps, verify your ficm voltages, battery voltages, high pressure pressures/voltages ipr/icp, etc.
decide what, if anything, is of concern and make a list, prioritize and consider upgraded parts vs just replacing with oem quality.
The trans is awesome, the power is awesome, the fun factor is also terrific.
I'm not panicking. I spent 4 months and countless hours on this site, going through the 6.0 threads and reading the tech forums before I settled on the 6.0 and made the purchase. I understand that the 6.0 has some issues, but I also know that with routine and proper upkeep and maintenance it can be a terrific engine.
Good advice on the rest of it. I do like OEM when it's the best option, but these days it's often not. I'm a kind of obsessive person when it comes to researching upgrades and like to get quality parts.
If you plan on driving the EX year round, I would seriously consider some kind of rust proofing like the Krown rust control or Rust Check. Something along those lines.
That EX is super clean and I'd like it to stay that way

Good call, and that's what I'm planning on doing this weekend. I'm currently trying to decide between something like Krown, or getting on my back and coating the entire bottom with Chassis Saver, and would appreciate anyone's insight. I think the chassis saver would be great, but I'm not certain that it would be good for nooks and crannies that you can get to by spraying.
Ontario are white, and some New York plates are yellow. I placed a yellow submarine over the license plate in the photos if that's what you're thinking about?

I don't have any personal experience but I have heard quite a number of good things about Fluid Film if you're willing to go the DIY route
Thanks for the kind comments. Love your Ex with the low kms. Really hard to find here. I am pushing 240000 miles now. It took me about three months of looking as well. Just be sure to get it oiled so it has a chance of surviving our Canadian winters.
You will really like the torque pro app. I use mine on a 10” Samsung tablet. I would like to see how your double din radio works out as I would really like a reverse camera but would also like to somehow integrate a dash cam and front camera as well.
Do not worry about the motor. There are issues but you just deal with them if they occur. My brother still has his F250 CCSB 6.0 PSD which is all original 245 000 miles on it. His HPOP finally gave up the ghost this past summer. You just need to establish a baseline to go off of.
I would recommend some of the basics such as a blue fuel spring. LED lights inside and out are nice too.
Love the Edge units. My Ex came with a SCT tuner so I ended up using a Samsung 10" tablet with Torque Pro. Love it for diagnostics but I wish it had a EGT gauge.
I have enough trouble on long drives just watching the 4 digital values on my SG2, I can't imagine having to focus on that many needles/digit readouts while driving. . But, if I had an awesome heads-up display projected on the windshield..
In the old analog gauge days, racers spun the gauges so the needle sticking vertical was the normal "good" reading and made it much easier to see good/bad readings
My pillar mount boost and egt are indexed with redline vertical. If the needles are straight up then I back out of the throttle, no need to know an actual number and it only takes a quick glance.
You can input whatever min/max numbers you wish for into the Torque Pro and in doing so you could have it reading vertical at the ideal point required. Some of mine have a bar going around the dial but it can easily be switched to a needle with a few clicks of the button. There is a lot to monitor but you could easily have another page with 1,2,3, or 4 units only to keep your eyes from popping out of their sockets.
What I love about it is the ability to diagnose problems when they crop up.

The blue fuel spring is the one and only mod that my engine currently has. I plan to use LED head and taillights when I update the front end, but I'm curious about the interior...I hadn't considered that.
